side walks

side walks

pursed lips and plummeting suns
the world oranged on our night-walk
as halfsun halfmoon share the sky unfazed

goofy and agape like a daffodil
in a sundress, I bet you could
smell the yellow on me

faded offerings call from the window
in shades of cadbury easter eggs:
pale pink pad thai, muted yellow pho with
sky blue cilantro leaves winking as we jaunt past
hand in hand

i shift my thumb, you slow your stride
and we wax and wane
on the edge of the pavement

petals backlit in golden hour gleam
and seen, know no shame
